Gainesville Holistic Health Fair Offers Plenty for All

Holistic Health Fair Features a Wide Array of Natural and Alternative Healing Methods

Bring your friends and family for a day of fun, food, music, fine art, crafts and learning.   This wholesome health fair is Saturday, May 30th, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Gainesville, 4225 NW 34th Street, Gainesville, Florida.  Entry is $2.00 donation for adults; children under 12 free with an adult.

The Gainesville Holistic Health Fair encompasses not only physical, but also mental, emotional, spiritual, and environmental health.  Artists, musicians, and craftspeople whose work supports holistic health will enliven this event.

A wide array of holistic practitioners will answer questions about their healing methods, and offer a sample of their work.  Visitors may experience massage therapy, acupuncture, sound healing, Reiki, Qi Gong, and even have their pulse diagnosed by an acupuncturist.

Families will find a friendly environment and a unique children’s program.  There will be local, organic, nourishing traditional food, prepared by chef Jean Kowacki, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten/casein-free options.

Demonstrations of Tai Chi, Chi Gong, and more will be ongoing.  Workshops about practical home remedies and empowering ways to maintain and improve your health will be presented throughout the day.  A series of discussions on local environmental health issues affecting our area will address these challenges both individually and through collective action.

Merrill Anderson, a fine artist from our area, will display examples of her work. Alyne Harris, a naive artist, will be exhibiting a number of paintings, and Fred Woods will show his recent series of drawings from his upcoming book.

Proceeds from the Gainesville Holistic Health Fair will go to Three Aunties, a nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing healthy relationships between people and their natural environment.

For children we would like to provide music, storytelling, nature study, and skills and craft activities, in the preschool room or outdoors in the enclosed playground.

Healing music, art, poetry, dance, tai chi, qi gong, yoga, and other holistic modalities that can be performed, demonstrated and taught are wanted!  We would like to provide art exhibits, live music, and dance entertainment and teaching for health fair visitors.

We would like to provide delicious, healthy, Nourishing Traditions foods for purchase (this would ideally include a variety of items that can be enjoyed by people on vegan, raw, gluten-free, paleo, primal, and other popular diets).   There is an indoor dining area where food can be sold, and a kitchen that a chef may use to prepare food on site.

The Gainesville Holistic Health Fair helps people in our local and wider community to become familiar with alternative modalities and practitioners, and learn about the benefits of holistic medicine.
Visitors to the health fair can meet holistic health care practitioners in person and have an opportunity to experience an abbreviated healing session.  They learn more about alternative medicine than they already know, and can explore discoveries about health and nutrition that have recently come to light.
Visitors can join workshops and classes that offer a variety of empowering self-care and alternative skills and understanding that can help keep them out of the hospital.
Funds raised by the Gainesville Holistic Health Fair will benefit our local nonprofit organization, Three Aunties, which works to nurture environmental awareness and a spiritual connection with nature as a basis for how people choose to live.
