Gainesville Holistic Health Fair Offers Plenty for All

Holistic Health Fair Features a Wide Array of Natural and Alternative Healing Methods

Bring your friends and family for a day of fun, food, music, fine art, crafts and learning.   This wholesome health fair is Saturday, May 30th, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Gainesville, 4225 NW 34th Street, Gainesville, Florida.  Entry is $2.00 donation for adults; children under 12 free with an adult.

The Gainesville Holistic Health Fair encompasses not only physical, but also mental, emotional, spiritual, and environmental health.  Artists, musicians, and craftspeople whose work supports holistic health will enliven this event.

A wide array of holistic practitioners will answer questions about their healing methods, and offer a sample of their work.  Visitors may experience massage therapy, acupuncture, sound healing, Reiki, Qi Gong, and even have their pulse diagnosed by an acupuncturist.

Families will find a friendly environment and a unique children’s program.  There will be local, organic, nourishing traditional food, prepared by chef Jean Kowacki, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten/casein-free options.

Demonstrations of Tai Chi, Chi Gong, and more will be ongoing.  Workshops about practical home remedies and empowering ways to maintain and improve your health will be presented throughout the day.  A series of discussions on local environmental health issues affecting our area will address these challenges both individually and through collective action.

Merrill Anderson, a fine artist from our area, will display examples of her work. Alyne Harris, a naive artist, will be exhibiting a number of paintings, and Fred Woods will show his recent series of drawings from his upcoming book.

Proceeds from the Gainesville Holistic Health Fair will go to Three Aunties, a nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing healthy relationships between people and their natural environment.
